I’m running with my son in his 1st marathon and also returning to the scene of my 1st overseas marathon which I ran in 2005, 10 years ago ,before going on to run all over the world including both poles.

Welcome to the website of Angelo Henry – who on 7 April 2009 became the 1st South African and African to achieve The Grand Slam by completing a standard marathon of 42.2 km on all 7 Continents as well as The North Pole.

Also the 1st South African and African to complete a marathon in the close vicinity of both the South Pole (Antarctica December 2008) and The North Pole in April 2009.

BEAST IN THE EAST, ENGLAND

Recently completed Grim the Beast in the East , www.grimchallenge.co.uk, finishing 12th overall and 1st in his age group.A 10km run on a motocross track,encompassing trail running,crawling through nets ,wading through water etc.

WILDCOAST WILDRUN

I will be completing my 5th and earning my permanent number in the event by doing so.It remains my annual “holiday”,112 kms over 3 days running along the Wild Coast of South Africa

2012 EVENTS

SEATTLE ROCK N ROLL MARATHON
Angelo successfully completed the SEATTLE ROCK N ROLL MARATHON on 23 June in the Northwest of America ,running along the side of Lake Washington ,finishing in 260th place overall in a field of 22000 plus strong.”




WILDCOAST WILD RUN

Angelo will be competing in his 4th successive WILDRUN in mid September along the pristine coastline of the Wild Coast along South Africa’s eastern coastline. Wildcoast Wildrun 2012 – Wild conditions hamper race record attempts


2011 EVENTS

Angelo recently completed the 115th Boston Marathon on 18 April, in a time of 3 hours 10 minutes. The Boston is the oldest marathon in the world, and the only one for which contestants are required to complete a marathon qualifier in order to compete.

Soon afterwards, on 6 May he was back in South Africa to compete in the African X with teammate Albert Pretorius. This was a 3 day stage run in Kleinmond in the Western Cape. The duo finished 5th in their category.
